Location: Horsethief Canyon Trailhead, 21697 Lyons Valley Rd., Alpine
Directions: Take Interstate 8 east to the Highway 79/Japatul Valley Road exit. Follow Japatul Valley Road south about 5 miles. Turn left onto Lyons Valley Road and go about 1.5 miles south to the trailhead; parking lot on your left near the Japatul Fire Station (mile marker 16.4 on Lyons Valley Road).

Join us for a Saturday tradition since 1988! It's a perfect time to come out and enjoy the splendor of the east county during this North County H3 excursion with Eagle and turkey trails. A to A - drive to B where you will enjoy yet another beautiful setting with tasty eats and memorable refreshment options! Carpool suggestion convenient to A and B: Hooley's and Edwards Cinemas parking lot at the intersection of Campo Rd. & Jamacha Rd., Rancho San Diego. From here take Campo Rd. southeast to Lyons Valley Rd. Turn left and head east to approach the start location from the other direction.
