Did you know that Poway has 25 parks and over 55 miles of trails? Poway is also ranked as the 7th safest city in California(#1 south of Orange County) and the 5th best school district in SoCal, also #1 south of Orange County.
But this weeks Poway lesson is on geography. The crown jewel of Poway is Lake Poway, however, Blue Sky, Sycamore Canyon, Mount Woodson Trail, Potato Chip Rock, Tooth Rock, Twin Peaks and Old Poway Park are all popular places to hike or visit in Poway.
This weeks run will start at area 8 at Lake Poway. As you enter the park it is up to the far right with some privacy and a bathroom. Poway residents can park for free, non residents pay $10 to park (if there is someone at the booth collecting). There is free parking at the lower parking lot outside of the gate. Run fees will be collected at area 8. There will be both turkey and eagle options, turkey trail would be great for dogs, eagle trail, not so much. With great weather predicted, a lake view at the end and E.D. cooking, what could be better?
