Paying HashCash - Dues and ePayments
Many kennels now will accept (and prefer) Hash Cash payments via a mobile payment "App", or prepayment of run fees via "dues". Provided below is a list of the kennels currently accepting mobile application payments or allows prepayment in terms of "dues". Kennels not listed, have not as yet made a commitment to supporting dues or mobile payments. Do NOT wait until you get to a run start to set up your Payment App(s), you will need account numbers, and will have to go through a verification process that can't be completed in just a few minutes..

Kennel NameAlternate Payment Methods supported
San Diego H3 (SDH3)SDH3 prefers run fees be paid via the "Cash App" so that s/he (the hash cash person), does not have to be concerned with securing run fees paid in cash, when they run the trail. If you don't want to enroll with the "Cash App", the SDH3 kennel asks that you please bring exact change (they may not be able to make change). Once you have the "Cash App" set up on your mobile device, run fees can be made to "$SDH3". An additional benefit of using the Cash App, to pay your SDH3 run fees, is that the "Hash Cash" person can better track whether you went to a run or not, since an email is sent to them whenever you schedule a payment (SDH3 kennel gives awards for run count accomplishments).
Humpin HashHumpin Hash currently accepts cash (exact change please) or mobile payments made via the "Cash.App" or "Paypal".
La Jolla H3 (LJH3)LJH3 does NOT accept payments via a mobile payment app currently.. It does however allow paying for "quarterly dues" (covering 3 months of runs) at $60 per quarter (subject to change) or individual run fees that cost between $8 to $10 per run if a meal is provided. Hash Cash will also accept "checks" for hash cash fees from "recognized" hashers (checks usually used to pay dues)

How do I enroll in a payment service (App)

Most mobile electronic payment services require you to provide a bank account number and or debit VISA/MasterCard number which will be charged, when you use their service. A few payment services allow you to use a credit card, but those usually will charge you a fee since the credit card companies do collect a fee. Can I trust the e-Payment service might be the first question you ask, when it comes to setting up an account with an e-Payment mobile service..

It is HIGHLY suggested that you do NOT provide your main banking account information, or your regular debit/atm card to these mobile payment services. Instead it is highly suggested you open up a separate account (perhaps with a local credit union) in which you keep a minimal amount of funds, with which you can associate a debit card (usually a Visa or Mastercard). Some services require a debit card number, other services require an account number.. Once you set up this "isolated" account, most banks will allow you to set up an electronic transfer from your main banking account to the isolated account.. Provided below is how to setup the payment services once you have your "isolated" account..

Cash App

  1. Download Cash App to your smartphone.
  2. If this is your first time using the app, you will be required to enter a phone number or email login ID. Choose how you prefer to receive verification codes from Cash App. You will then be sent a code to verify your account.
  3. Verify your account by entering the code that was sent to you.
  4. After verification, choose whether to add a bank account immediately or skip it and do it later. To add a bank, you will need to enter your debit card number and name as it appears on the card. Please note that a credit card will not work.
  5. Choose a $Cashtag, which is your unique identifier in Cash App and it can also be used to get paid by someone. A $Cashtag must include at least one letter and a maximum of 20 characters.
