Aunt Lorraine's Lemon BarsOven temperature 350 F metal
Pan, 325 F glass pan (9" X 13")
  • 1 cup butter/margarine
  • 2 cups flour
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 8 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder

Melt butter and mix with two cups of flour & ½ cup of brown sugar. Press the mixture into the bottom of a greased pan. Place in the oven for 20 minutes.

Beat the eggs. Add two cups of sugar, 8 tablespoons of lemon juice, 4 tablespoons of flour & ½ teaspoon of baking powder. Pour the mixture over the crust after it comes out of the oven. Bake the combined crust and egg mixture for 35 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow it to cool. Springle the crust with powdered sugar while it is still warm but not hot. Enjoy!
