The Bridges of Mission Bay

Location: Mission Bay. Playground by intersection of West Mission Bay Drive and Mariners Way/Gleason Rd. Playground is left/southwest side from intersection, whereas the Bahia Hotel is on the right/northwest side.
Directions: Take I-8 or I-5 toward the Belmont Park roller coaster. From I-8, go until freeway is ending, stay right and exit Ingraham Street north. Cross the bridge, take offramp on your right to West Mission Bay Drive. Go over the bridge, towards the roller coaster. Left at Mariner's Way/Gleason Rd, into parking lot. Go left again to playground. From I-5, take Seaworld Dr, exit W Mission Bay Drive/Ingraham St, (after Seaworld) continue onto next offramp to loop around onto WMB Drive. Go over the bridge, turn left at Mariner's Way/Gleason Rd, into parking lot. Go left to playground. If you get to the roller coaster, you've gone too far.

Notes:
Very scenic. 4.5 mile and 1 1/2-mile options. See sailboats, birds, and a seal on both trails. There are ducks and waterfalls on Eagle. Bring sand toys, bathing suit, sunscreen.
