Location: Camp Pendleton, Lake O'Neill
Directions: I-5 north to the Camp Pendleton exit on the north end of Oceanside. From the Main Gate continue approx. 9.3 miles on Vandegrift Blvd. to the traffic light at Santa Margarita Rd (road to the Naval Hospital). Turn left and continue 1/4 mile to entrance to Lake O'Neill recreation area. Turn right and continue 1/2 mile to the last covered picnic pavillion on the left.

Help celebrate 23 glorious years of HASHING at North County's 1211th run. An A-A run with fabulous BEER, great FOOD, fantastic TRAIL, announcement of the new GM's, and "special" entertainment.
Based on their experience with over 2,000 NCH3 runs between them, your Hares suggest dry shoes and socks, a chair and a sense of humor.
Eagle trail ~ 7.5 miles, Turkey trail ~ 4.75 miles, Walker trail ~ 2.75 miles.
Dogs are okay, but remember this is coyote country, and Base Regulations say dogs must be kept on a leash. Turkey and Eagle trails are not stroller friendly.
Consider car pooling from points south.
To drive a car on Camp Pendleton you will need a valid driver's license, current registration, and proof of insurance. If the gate sentry asks your destination and purpose, tell them you are going to Lake O'Neill for a fun run and picnic. If they ask who is sponsoring the event, tell them Lt Col Mike Collier and CMDR Vic Krulak.

It has been announced on local radio that with the approach of the 10th anniversary of 9/11, security at military installations will be increased. Camp Pendleton won't be closed to non-military traffic, but it may take longer to get through the main gate, please plan accordingly.
