"Those who do not know History are forever destined to repeat it" - Edmund Burke, 1729-1797
What caused the French, English, and American Revolutions? Why was there a point in time in which there were two popes who excommunicated each other? What are the seven wonders of the ancient world? Just how many empires have fallen in our history? The Qing Dynasty, Romans, Ottomans, Persians, Mongols, Sith, and many more!
Whether questions like these fascinate you or you're a half mind who just feels like running a awesome trail with friends and beer make sure y'all come out this Monday and have a good time and maybe learn a little something. Costumes are encouraged so dress as a historical figure, represent a culture, or just represent the modern age and come as you are.
Be warned though....it may come to be that only the knowledgeable may pass, so bone up on your history. Otherwise, you may forever wander the backwoods of California in ignorance like poor Theseus had he not made it out of the labyrinth.
Trail will be approximately 5 miles long with a AP History/Remedial (T/E) split that will add a little on to the Eagles but will mostly just up the difficulty a bit. Trail is both technology and dog friendly though the bar is not friendly to four legged hashers so keep that in mind. There will be two drink checks on trail along with some other surprises. Lastly on trail, there will be questions and trivia abound, a short answer question for extra credit, and at the on in there will be a test. So either actually learn something on trail or cheat off the guy next to ya! See y'all there!
