Gather round, for this Saturday 3.14 is Pi Day! And Orange County H3 will be joining us!
We'll have a 3.14 mile trail for Turkeys, 1.41 mi for Walkers, the Eagles get a trail about as long as the circumference of a circle with diameter of 2.197.
T/E trail is A-B, end is Magee Park in Carlsbad. Walkers will circle back to start and can drive to B.
It could not be pi day without The Pyes serving pies.
Those pies will not be pizza, because if z=radius and a=height, pi*z*z*a defines the volume of a cylinder. You'll instead find cold cylinders at the beerchecks. Maybe even made by Pizza Port.
Some parts of the trail say No Dogs, but you can parallel those sections.
To get back to start, ask a walker, hop on the 101 bus ($1.25 for seniors), or take the Coaster one stop.
And yes, you can easily take the Coaster, Amtrak, or Metrolink to the start. Also might be a good way to get home if you've had 3.14159 drinks... and counting... and feel irrational after all those rounds.
If you want to celebrate any other holidays today, go ahead and supply your own steak and whatnot. We don't judge.
